Into the Jungle

A good trip is when you are sad to leave each spot, but excited about the next! We were off to the Amazon jungle!
We drove toward Tena and crossed the Andes through lush green countryside.
Alng the way, we climbed into the clouds and visibility dropped to almost nothing in the rain forest.
We turned off onto a dirt road (complete with a suspension bridge) to reach Hakuna Matata, a beautiful lodge in the jungle.
There the proprietors, Rudy and Michellena, spoiled us with a tree house room and the best meals ever!
We rode horses around their 700 acre property
took a canoe up the Napa River and visited the hut of an indigenous family
hiked in the jungle with Jiro
seeing birds, frogs, flowers, trees, and stopped at Amazoonica where orphaned and injured animals are sheltered.
We also took a white water raft trip which combined beautiful scenery and thrills! Unfortunately, the sand flies left itchy reminders of our lunchtime in the jungle!

What a wonderful flood of new pictures. They are superb!! Thank you, thank you. Helen
