Loading a GS onto a Sailboat

Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

Mike Lewis left Seattle on March 18th 09 for a 5 year journey around the world. Last week he and his BMW R1150GS boarded a sailboat in Portobelo, Panama heading to Cartagena, Colombia. I've heard of the motorcycle loading process but I've never seen video coverage. It's hard to believe they loaded his big GS onto a dory and then hand held the the bike as they motored from the dock to the sailboat. Awesome video!

    Evandro,

I didn't use a boat to cross the Darien Gap but it would be a wonderful 5 day trip. I flew my BMW GS from Panama to Colombia. The cost was $900 USD.
