This plugin enables Google Analytics for your photo gallery.


Google Analytics allows you to track your web site's visitors and much more. For more information on Google Analytics and to get your Analytics ID visit Google Analytics.

 

google_analytics for zenPhoto uses the latest asynchronous script from Google to take advantage of asynchronous JavaScript which enhances the speed in which the tracking code is loaded.


The asynchronous functionality enables the tracking code to be placed at the beginning of your web page too. With zenPhoto's new filter functions you can install and use this plugin without modifying your template - a great improvement over the earlier versions of google_analytics for zenPhoto.


google_analytics for zenPhoto provides the option to allow you to track or ignore 'admin' users. Navigate to the the plugin options panel to select or deselect this feature.


Before you use this plugin, you will need to register your site with Google Analytics and obtain a Web Property ID. You then need to enter this ID into the "Google Analytics Web Property ID" field on the plugin options panel.


If you are using an older pre 1.4 zenPhoto template, insure that you modify the template to support the 'theme_body_open' filter with the zp_apply_filter zenPhoto function

** installation **


  1. Copy google_analytics.php to the plugins directory of you zenPhoto: zenPhoto/plugins
  2. Login as admin to your zenPhoto site and enable the plugin
  3. Navigate to the options / plugins panel and enter your Google Analytics Web Property ID

    I am having issues with the plugin.
    When I enable the plugin my site no longer works.
    I am also not seeing the options for the plugin.

    I have several other plugins that are working as expected.

    Any ideas?

    The latest version of google_analytics for zenPhoto only works with version 1.4 and above. If you select Extras->File Download->Software you can download a version 1.1 however, this will require modification to your template. Or, upgrade you Zenphoto :D
