West Coast Madness IX
Tuesday, 21 June 2011 15:43
For the ninth time, the Madones descended from all parts of North America to this years destination, Weaverville, California. I arrived in Weaverville Thursday afternoon after a leisurely 4 day ride down the Oregon Coast
turing inland on Hwy 299 to Weaverville.
At the end of two days of riding the fantastic roads of Northern California, the Madones started gathering hoping to find someone to lead them to the festivities.
While some worked on sorting their phone
others told stories of how big or fast or ..... well, you get the idea
in the end, the Madones paused long enough to enjoy each others company, the roads, food, and the friendship of nine years of riding Ducati's greatest motorcycle; the ST2,ST4 and ST4s.
At 11:00 AM Sunday morning I left Weaverville chasing Mike up Highway 3. We grabbed a short section of I-5 to Ashland, found the Dead Indian and ended up hanging out with locals in Medford.
Monday, Mike and I departed company as I took off for Spokane. Riding some of Oregon's finer road, I searched for antelope and looked for fossils until, in the late afternoon, I opted for the safety of I-90 and blasted into the Inland Empire and home.
Another year and another Madness bits the dust
