Traveling during the raining session is possible as often the mornings are sunny and without rain. Typically, the rain starts in the early afternoon, so if one can get an early start then it’s possible to get a good 4-5 hours of travel without rain. However, you can have a storm in the area which will dump rain day and night. This can cause problems with roads even after the storm is over as there can be roads that are flooded or bridges that are washed out.

Great stop over for a little R&R on the Pacific Ocean in Northern Nicaragua. 13 miles west of Leon. Secured parking right on the BEACH. Cheap lodging, great food and drink.

After a million miles driving in and around pot holes and avoiding flooded areas, a new engineered road from Leon to Las Penitas is now open. Only 15 minutes on a smooth road to Playa Roca Beach Hotel/Bar/Restaurant.
